Damian Zapłata Appointed as a New Member of R-GOL's Supervisory Board
In January this year, Damian Zapłata joined the Supervisory Board of R-GOL, a leading distributor of specialized equipment for football enthusiasts, professionals, and clubs in Central and Eastern Europe. With extensive experience in the areas of e-commerce, digital marketing and data analysis, Damian will support the company in further expansion on the European e-commerce market and implementation of technological innovations.
R-GOL currently operates in 11 CEE markets and is a leader among specialized distributors of football products in the region. In recent years, the company has almost tripled the scale of its business thanks to fast-paced expansion abroad, as well as strengthened its position in existing markets. Currently, R-GOL intends to further develop its omnichannel sales strategy by taking advantage of modern technologies, including data analytics and artificial intelligence, and Damian Zapłata will be responsible, among other things, for the technological aspect of the value-creation plan. Additionally, he will also support the company in its international expansion.

In parallel to his role as a Supervisory Board member in R-GOL, Damian Zapłata holds office of a Venture Partner at Inovo.vc, a venture capital fund that finances early-stage companies from Central and Eastern Europe. Damian also has a track-record of successfully managing the development of the largest online sales platforms in Poland and CEE. Prior to joining R-GOL, he was a Chief Executive Officer at Modivo.com, and before that he spent four years in the Allegro Group as Chief Sales Officer. He also gained experience as a board member at Lloyds Banking Group, CEO and chairman of the Management Board at First Data Corporation, and from managing PAYBACK Poland. Before joining the business community, he spent several years in various positions at the consulting firm McKinsey & Company, including a partnership position.
